The 106th Annual Conference of the College Art Association (CAA) will take place from Wednesday, February 21, through Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The conference includes:

  • Over 200 sessions
  • 120 exhibits by publishers, artist material manufacturers, digital resource providers, programs of advance and foreign study, and services to the profession
  • The nation’s largest job placement service for visual arts professionals

 As a registered exhibitor, you are welcome to propose a 90-minute session or workshop for the 2018 Conference via this portal between Wednesday, March 8, 2017 and Friday, September 1, 2017.

 

Sessions and workshops are a powerful way to connect more deeply with conference attendees and contribute directly to the conference program. Utilize your professional expertise and present a session or practical workshop on innovative materials, new techniques, research possibilities, groundbreaking scholarship, or unique publishing opportunities for which you as an exhibitor are known, in a more in-depth format. The CAA Conference Committee and Programs Department welcome a wide variety of subject areas and session formats.

The Exhibitor Sessions are intended to offer practical information, professional expertise, or historical/scholarly content only. The sessions are not for direct marketing, sales or promotion of products, publications, or services or programs.

If approved by the committee, the exhibitor will be guaranteed one (1) session or workshop. Submissions received before the deadline will be included in CAA publications such as the printed and online conference program, Abstracts 2018, and the conference website.

  

Requirements for submission:

  • You must be a registered exhibitor for the 2018 conference. Registration forms to exhibit in the annual conference book and trade fair will be available in August 2017. If you are a recent exhibitor the exhibitor prospectus will be mailed to you in August. If you submit a proposal for a session, you will need to subsequently register to participate in the conference as an exhibitor once the exhibitor registration is open in August.
  • You must have at least one (1) Session Chair or Workshop Leader identified in your submission.
  • You must submit a session or workshop abstract/description of up to 250 words.

 

GENERAL EXHIBITOR SUBMISSION INFORMATION

  • Submissions may be started and worked on during multiple visits to the Submittable website by clicking on the "Save Draft" button at the bottom of this page. Only click the blue "Submit" button once your submission is complete and ready for review by the Annual Conference Committee. After clicking "Submit" you will no longer have access to this submission.
  • The accuracy of information in this form (e.g., spelling of names, titles, grammar) is important as it will be pulled directly from this database for conference publications and the conference website.
  • All sessions are 90 minutes in length; please plan accordingly.
  • All participants, speakers, and session leaders must register for at least their session at the conference via a conference badge or single-session ticket. Exhibitors who purchase standard booths receive 2 complimentary full-conference registrations. If the session/workshop leader(s) is(are) not covered by these 2 complimentary registrations, it is the session/workshop leader's responsibility to register for the conference (full-conference registration is available online through late December while single-time-slot or single-day tickets will be available on-site only).
  • The default set-up of Exhibitor Session rooms is THEATER-STYLE. (seating in rows with a dais, podium, table, and microphones for speakers with a laptop/audio patch). Please contact Katie Apsey, Manager of Programs (kapsey@collegeart.org), if an alternative room set-up or additional AV is needed by November 6, 2017. Alternative room set-ups and additional AV needs are subject to additional venue costs and are the responsibility of the exhibitor.
  • The submissions portal will close Friday, September 1, 2017.
